Valley Water manages an integrated water resources system that includes the supply of safe, clean water, flood protection and stewardship of streams on behalf of Santa Clara County’s nearly 2 million residents. Their agency effectively manages 10 dams and surface water reservoirs, three water treatment plants, an advanced recycled water purification center, a state-of-the-art water quality laboratory, nearly 277 acres of groundwater recharge ponds and 294 miles of streams. The only water agency in the state that is both a State Water Project contractor and a federal Central Valley Project contractor, Valley Water is governed by a seven-member elected board and is one of 16 participating agencies on the DCA Board of Directors.
