The Alameda County Water District (ACWD) was established in 1914 and provides drinking water to residents and businesses in Fremont, Newark and Union City. Its mission is to provide customers with a reliable supply of high-quality water at a reasonable price. ACWD manages and maintains over 930 miles of water main pipelines, 13 reservoirs and water storage tanks, and three treatment facilities and is governed by a 5-member Board of Directors.
