Tunnel Lead
Steve Dubnewych is DCA’s Lead Tunnel Engineer and has 34 years of engineering experience and has participated in the planning, design and construction management of numerous tunnel projects, including tunnels for water supply, wastewater, hydroelectric, transit and highway. Additionally, he has project management experience on large complex tunneling projects using both traditional design-bid-build and design-build project delivery methods.
Steve has been involved with the Delta Conveyance project since 2012 where he also served as the Tunnel Lead and managed all task orders issued by Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) in support of the certified engineering report performed on the tunnels during the environmental documentation process. His lead tunneling project roles include California High Speed Rail (Southern California Region), Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County Clearwater Project tunnel, MWD’s Inland Feeder Project Arrowhead tunnels, Lesotho Highlands Water Scheme Project (Transfer Tunnel North) and several Los Angeles Metro transit projects. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University in Canada and Diploma in Civil Engineering from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Canada. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in California, Washington State and Province of Ontario in Canada.
