Stakeholder Engagement Manager
Nazli Parvizi leads the DCA’s Stakeholder Engagement team. Nazli began her career in government in New York City under former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, serving as his Commissioner for the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit (CAU). In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, she was also appointed Director of Brooklyn Recovery Efforts and established the community outreach offices for both the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Recovery (HRO) and the Special Initiative on Recovery and Resiliency (SIRR). Nazli joined the engineering firm Aptim in 2015 as part of Aptim’s Resiliency practice with a focus on New York City projects, particularly the $3 billion FEMA allocation towards Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). Before moving to California last year, Nazli worked as a Senior Advisor to DalyGonzalez, a boutique public affairs and consultancy firm, focusing her efforts on affordable housing development and the nonprofit sector. Nazli graduated with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in Biology from Barnard College of Columbia University. She moved to California in 2018 to test out the theory that the west coast is, indeed, the best coast.
